How we work

How we work

Short version: we describe mechanisms, we name sources, and we mark anything that was paid for.

Sourcing

Where a piece rests on a specification, a regulator’s guidance or a vendor’s documentation, that document is linked in the text rather than paraphrased at second hand. Standards bodies, primary regulation and engineering write-ups from the teams who ran the system are preferred over summaries.

Numbers

Figures are quoted from a named source or not quoted at all. We do not round unsourced numbers into the text to make a paragraph land harder.

Sponsored placements

The site sells article placements and links. Everything paid for carries rel="sponsored", and sponsored logos on the front page sit in a block labelled as such. Payment buys placement; it does not buy an editorial verdict elsewhere on the site. Terms are on the placements page.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix the page rather than quietly delete it.
